Googlezing!!!

Google (www.google.com) nevers fails to amaze.

They are coming up with pretty innovative stuff at regular intervals. Keep a track of it at http://labs.google.com.

However I came across a hidden link through http://googleblog.blogspot.com. This is for annual Zeitgeist http://www.google.com/zeitgeist2005. You can have a look at the previous years results too and find out what search terms are gaining and losing. It reflects a lot on the way culture is evolving. It gives India specific results too.

An issue of trust

Is the internet the cause for it or just good old moral degradation?

Which news source do you trust? I still remember the days when you pretty much believed what was shown on tv and what you read in your favourite newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper with so much conflicting news and blatantly biased opinions, that even a pinch of salt is too much to be wasted on them.

The worst culprits are the esteemed www.timesofindia.com. I think they have a team of cricket journalists who take turns to write (if it can be called that) on the pressing issues pertaining to the sport. One day its "Sachin is a dead force" , the second day "Sachin - the demi god". One day they advocate inducting youngsters , then there is another article while trying to prove something else plugs for experience. Then there is www.cricketnext.com . This is a blatantly biased site which supports Ganguly to the point that you would believe India was the numero uno when Ganguly was in the team.

I have given examples of cricket based sites only but that is pretty much a reflection of the general attitude floating around. Words are cheap, my boss used to say and that's what these guys are proving.

End of an era!!!

Is this the end of a glorious era!!!

Dada has been sacked. Will we ever see his shirt waving shenanigans again? At this moment, let us raise a toast to the man who has been India's most successful captain and architect of many wins. Let this also be a reminder to all and sundry that resting on past glory alone isn't sufficient. As any successful manager would vouch, Talent alone isn't sufficient, you need the right attitude. Laxman is probably next in line if he doesn't keep his fitness levels high.

Kudos to Jumbo !!! What a performance. This underrated man has been instrumental in helping India in n number of matches. Great performance.
