Be the change you want to see

In one of their innumerable “comic” sequences in some random Tamil potboiler, the popular practitioners of slapstick (Senthil (S) & CounterMani (C) ) act out a sequence when C is ready to get married and S lures him with Sridevi’s photo but ultimately gets him married to his …. (let’s put it as beauty challenged) sister. C laments his situation as he was expecting Sridevi but has to live with S’ sister. The audience laughs at him for daring to expect to marry Sridevi.

Aren’t we behaving like C - expecting to get an ideal Maryada Purshottam as CM / PM / HM and expecting Ram Rajya when most of us turn a blind eye to the various ills pervading around us. Like Gandhiji said “Be the change you want to see”
